World Leaders’ Summit

WLS (World Leaders’ Summit) is a committee unlike any other. Delegates must represent world leaders rather than countries, allowing them to really step into the shoes of a diplomat and truly think like one, which is not a simple task. The procedure of this committee, just like the committee itself, is different from the rest; delegates must form coalitions, write proposition papers, and debate declarations, rather than forming alliances and writing resolution papers. The debate flow of WLS has some similarities to resolution-based committees, such as the use of points and motions, yet the use of objections and ad-hoc style debate allows the committee to stand out.

تُعدّ قمة قادة العالم لجنةً فريدةً من نوعها. إذ يُمثّل المندوبون قادة العالم, وليس دول، مالهم فرصةً حقيقيةً لتقمّص دور الدبلوماسي والتفكير بمنطقة، وهو أمرٌ ليس بالهين. يختلف إجراء هذه اللجنة عن غيرها؛ إذ يتعيّن على المندوبين تشكيل تحالفات، وكتابة مقترحات، ومناقشة إعلانات. يتشابه أسلوب النقاش في قمة قادة العالم مع اللجان الأخرى, في بعض الجوانب، إلا أن استخدام الاعتراضات والنقاشات العفوية يُميّز هذه اللجنة عن غيرها.
