Special Political & Decolonization Committee

The Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECOL), also known as the fourth committee of the UN General Assembly, handles a wide range of political issues not covered by other committees. Its main areas of work include decolonization, peacekeeping operations, peaceful uses of outer space, effects of atomic radiation, and issues related to refugees and human rights in occupied territories. SPECOL focuses on resolving political conflicts, supporting self-determination, and addressing long-standing global challenges through debates and non-binding resolutions.
