Human Rights Council

The Human Rights Council (HRC) is a United Nations body responsible for promoting and protecting human rights worldwide. Established in 2006, it consists of 47 member states elected by the UN General Assembly. The Council addresses human rights violations, makes recommendations, and conducts investigations through mechanisms like the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), which evaluates the human-rights records of all UN member states. It meets regularly in Geneva and can convene special sessions to respond to urgent human-rights issues. 

مجلس حقوق الإنسان هو هيئة تابعة للأمم المتحدة تُعنى بتعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان حول العالم. تأسس عام 2006 ويتكون من 47 دولة عضوا تنتخبهم الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة. يعمل المجلس على مناقشة انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان وتقديم التوصيات، كما يجري آلية المراجعة الدورية الشاملة التي تقيّم سجل حقوق الإنسان في جميع الدول الأعضاء. يعقد المجلس اجتماعاته بانتظام في جنيف، ويمكنه عقد جلسات
